The Bollywood in 70s was at the peak of everything you can relate to in Hindi movie acting, directing, music and exploring new boundaries. Some of the best Bollywood movies of all times were produced during this decade. Where 80s era were considered totally different from 70s.

The 1980’s are usually considered the dark period of Hindi film industry. A general view about the movies of 1980's shows that films of that era had neither story nor screenplay, the music was abysmally bad and most of the top actors and actresses looked over the hill and did routine work. However, some films made then, still remain firmly etched in memory which left an indelible mark on people's mind.

 

Bollywood 70s era was coming out of age and that period is remembered as the 'teen age' of bollywood. In the mid-1970s, romantic confections made way for gritty, violent films about gangsters and robbers. Some Hindi filmmakers such as Shyam Benegal continued to produce realistic films alongside Mani Kaul, Kumar Shahani, Ketan Mehta, Govind Nihalani and Vijaya Mehta

Biggest hits were release in the era of 70s. Sholay (1975) is one of the biggest hit ever from Bollywood. When first released, the movie did not win any major awards from the film critics, but it has a cult like following. At the 50th Filmfare, it received the award as the Best Film of 50 Years. 



Mera Naam Joker (1970) Raj Kapoor spent every penny he had on this movie, and it flopped during the first release it was just too long, with run time over 5 hours. The second release, the re-edited ended up as one of the most successful film of all times. Bobby , Deewaar , Roti Kapda Aur Makaan , Muqaddar Ka Sikandar , Ankur , Kabhi Kabhie , Amar Prem , Amar Akbar Anthony etc .

the period from the late nineteen forty to the nineteen sixty is regarded by Film historians as the " Golden Age " of Hindi cinema. Some of the most critically much-admired Hindi Films of all time were produced during this period

Raj kapoor is the man who was live in the heart of public at that time not only the public of India but also the Pakistan public liked and admired his work .Raj Kapoor founded RK Films in nineteen forty eight , the most important studio of the post-Independence era. Aag (Fire), Kapoor’s First Film as producer and director, reFlects these inFluences while establishing the modernday, ultra-romantic style that would become his trademark.

Aag also marks the First of many Films in which he appeared with Nargis, the greatest female star of Indian cinema. The Kapoor-Nargis partnership was cemented when they appeared together in Khan’s giant hit Andaz and Kapoor’s own Barsaat.

Some of the most famous epic Films of Hindi cinema were also produced at the time of golden age , including mehboob khan MOTHER INDIA(nineteen Fifty seven), which was nominated for theAcademy Award for best Foreign Language Film, and K ASIF s MUGHAL-E-AZAM (nineteen sixty).

The one more blockbuster which came round about at the end of golden age is PAKEEZAH. Pakeezah is a NINTEEN SEVENTY TWO Indian Film. It was directed by Kamal Amrohi who was known for his perfectionism. The music is by GHULA, MOHAMMED and NAUSHAD . The Film tells the story of a LUCKNOW TAWAIF played by actress MEENA KUMARI who died shortly after the Film was completed.

Successful actors at the golden age included DAV ANAND, DALIP KUMAR, Raj Kapoor and Guru Dutt. 

The government of India honored him with the PADMA BHUSHAN  in nineteen seventy one and the DADASAHEB PHALKE AWARD in nineteen eighty seven the highest award for cinematic excellence in India. Kapoor had received many awards throughout his career, including ninety FILMFARE AWARD.

Dav Anand he was gaven PADMA BHUSHAN in two thousand one  (India's third highest civilian award from the Government of India ). And he won four Filmfare awards for his films.

Dalip kumar was awarded PADMA BHUSHAN from the Government of India. In nineteen ninety seven , Kumar was awarded, NISHAN-E-IMTIAZ , a high civilian award conferred by the Government of PAKISTAN . He has received many awards throughout his career, including eight FILMFARE BEST ACTOR awards.
